On April 5, 2016 our group of children and mentors wonderful evening at the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers Chorus concert at Garrett College hosted by the Garrett Lakes Arts Festival. Our mentors and children who meet together weekly at school and participate in activities like this one enjoyed their bonding evening together. Thank you so much to GLAF for giving us this opportunity.
We were also touched to be there with our friend Judi who stood during the Armed Forces Salute to honor the service of her husband and our dear friend Rick, our past President and former mentor who we lost in September. Our organization has recently established the Garrett Mentors Rear Admiral Richard B. Schiff Memorial Scholarship at Garrett College. Preference will be given to students at Garrett who have gone through our program and secondary preference will be given to military members or current or former military dependents.
